Why are you doing a PhD:
I applied for this PhD in order to have the chance to be more involved in the research and development of these IVD devices whilst also improving my knowledge of the pathways and outcomes of ER stress and the Unfolded Protein Response. This project provides, I believe, the opportunity to do both whilst also being involved in the general overall advancement of therapies targeting disease caused or influenced by ER stress and the Unfolded Protein Response.
My interests in research and natural curiosity, both in the field of ER stress and the natural sciences in general, have also driven my desire to do a PhD as it would provide me with the opportunity to undertake original and exciting studies. I am very much looking forward to the new techniques and knowledge I will develop during the candidacy itself.
