Why are you doing a PhD:
Acquiring a PhD is a big step towards becoming a more accomplished scientist whilst pursuing the improvement of inter-professional relationships between specialties in order to maximise resources and acquire expertise from industry, academia and clinics with the long term view to optimise the availability of options to those who are affected by disease.
From a personal perspective, the PhD will aid building my career as an academic and also it will maximise my opportunities of producing truly translational results that can eventually be brought to clinical trials.
What are your interests outside the lab?
I enjoy a lot of sporting activities and have ran in races for various charities from 10k to marathon distances as well as having practiced Muay Thai for almost ten years at Wicker Camp in Sheffield, UK and played rugby at University.
Exercising aside I very much enjoy live music be that classical or rock, art exhibitions and shows. Having tried my hand in setting up a business I am also very much involved with interior design, crafts and decoration.
