Fantastic work by all the TRAINERS members on their joint review in FEBS Journal on

Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress signalling – from basic mechanisms to clinical applications

In particular well done to all the 14 TRAINERS ESRs  and Dr Eric Chevet who was the driving force behind the review. The review is available as an open access article at http://febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/febs.14608

The review provides a comprehensive overview of intracellular ER signaling revolving around proteostasis and the UPR. It deals with impact of ER signalling on other organelles and cellular behaviour, its multifaceted and dynamic response to stress and its role in physiology, before finally exploring the potential exploitation of this knowledge to tackle unresolved biological questions and address unmet biomedical needs. Thus this review provides an integrated and global view of existing literature on ER signaling pathways and their use for therapeutic purposes.
